This workshop is non-refundable. However, if you’re unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation to a future session or to someone else. Please email Stone Gallery to notify us of the change, and we will follow up with you.
The workshop is limited to 4 students and will proceed even if it isn’t full.
Syllabus:
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, as this is a hands-on, creative class
(think: painting day attire).
1st hour:
• Introduction to the history and basics of silk screening.
• Overview of the silk screening process: emulsion, drying, exposure, washing, and curing.
• Understanding the difference between non-halftone and halftone images.
• Exploring the difference between 1-color and 2-color designs.
2nd hour:
• Overview and demonstration of basic silk screen concepts and capabilities.
• Live demonstration of the printing process, showing how it works with the six available designs.
• Q&A session, including the distribution of a supplier list and home setup instructions.

3rd hour:
• Step-by-step demonstrations followed by hands-on practice sessions.
• Each student receives two 19 x 25 inch sheets of 80 lb French paper—one for practice and the other for their final print.
4th hour:
• Studio time with one-on-one assistance to work on your final print and handle cleanup.
• Q&A session, including the distribution of a supplier list and home setup instructions.
