The beauty of hand-pulled screen printing comes from its imperfections and variations, making each print a one-of-a-kind creation.

This vintage camera series began completely by accident. One weekend, I had just finished printing Floraison du désert sous un ciel vert and found myself staring around the studio wondering, "Okay... now what?" I had absolutely no idea what my next series was going to be. As every artist knows, that moment can be both exciting and a little terrifying. Then the universe decided to step in!

That same afternoon, my amazing neighbor at the Lofts Art District, Donna from Cruise Holidays of Palm Springs, stopped by while I was screen printing and casually asked, "Would you be interested in my vintage camera collection? I've been collecting them since high school."
My response was immediate... "HELL yeah, I would!"

About five minutes later, Donna returned carrying a basket filled with six or eight beautiful vintage cameras from the 1950s through the late 1960s. I was completely blown away. As I looked through them, I knew instantly what my next body of work was going to be. Those cameras didn't just inspire a few prints, they inspired an entire series.

It's funny how the universe works. Sometimes, just when you're convinced you've run out of ideas, it places exactly what you need right in front of you. In my case, it arrived in a basket full of gorgeous old cameras.

Donna, thank you so much for your incredible generosity and for trusting me with your collection.
You unknowingly helped spark one of my favorite series to date.

You absolutely rock!
